Welcome to Room 10!
Check the "New Events Coming Up"
to see what's new and exciting at Cobblestone!
Many things to think about:
*V.A.P.A. *Library *Parent-Teacher Conferences *Book Orders *P.E. *Computer *Themes *Tuesday Folders *Snacks *Birthdays *Notes Home *Field Trips *Parent Volunteers *Substitutes *A.R./A.M. *Mystery Bags *Getting safely home *Independent Study
Grading Policy:
Star = You did you personal best
Check Mark = Good work, but you need to add more detail. Please take a bit more care.
R = Re-do. This effort is not your best and is unacceptable.
Home Reading Program:
Each child needs to read at least 20 minutes per night. After he/she reads, please sign a line on the Reading Log. Everyone should read Mon.-Thurs. Also, in 3rd grade, students will have an AR (Accelerated Reader) goal that will be met by reading books in their levels and then taking comprehension tests on the computer. When they read a book at home, please encourage them to take a test at school when finished.
Homework:
Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, homework papers will go home in the binder and be due the next day.
We will have a spelling pretest on Monday and a posttest on Friday.
I know it sounds like a lot, and maybe even overwhelming, but once the kids get into the routine, it will be a breeze. However, if at any time homework becomes a burden for your child, please let me know as soon as possible.
The homework is designed to be a reinforcement of topics taught in class. It is not intended to be a chore or an introduction to new material. If it is too difficult, please write a note on the homework and return it to me. Do not force your child to learn a topic for the first time at home.
Thank you.
If you have any questions or concerns at any time, please drop by or email me at [email protected]
I’m looking forward to a fantastic year with you and your children!!
